Regaining Control Over Company's Access Rights

Access360 and ECS Computers team up to showcase how companies can effectively manage access to their enterprise systems in today's fast changing world

Singapore, 26 February 2001 - Access360, a leading provider of resource provisioning management solutions, and its systems integration Partner in Singapore, ECS computers, jointly conducted a seminar attended by senior IT professionals, key decision makers and vertical industry leaders at the Pan Pacific hotel on Friday.

The seminar, "Managing Access rights at e-Business Speed", featured a presentation by RPM expert, Jeff Curie, Director of Enterprise Strategy at Access360. With 15 years of experience in the design and development of operational support systems for telecommunications and wireless systems, Jeff is a respected authority in this field, frequently consulting with security directors and CIOs around the world on the application of Resource Provisioning Management (RPM), directories and security products.

In his presentation, Jeff outlined how companies could effectively regain control over their access rights to cater to a fast-changing business world. He examined how companies could create an effective access management and control environment by keeping track of valid users and permissions, and ensuring access is limited to authorised individuals.

Jeff also explained how challenging it was for companies to manage user access rights to applications hosted by application service providers, and reviewed the key components of access rights management to consider when selecting solutions that will deliver results today and form the necessary infrastructure for future e-business.

Speaking to participants in a question and answer session after his presentation, Jeff said, "In order to effectively nip the challenge of access rights control in the bud, companies need to deploy a full-featured RPM system."

"A full-featured RPM system must offer connectivity to the broadest range of business resources. It must be capable of leveraging existing business systems and technologies. It must also produce comprehensive audit trails that allow corporations to quickly understand who has access to a system and why it was granted, and enable a corporation to enforce its own particular set of business rules."

"Access360 has developed a solution that can help companies manage identity information and ensure that only the right people have access to the right resources,"said Hugh Sutherland,Vice President Asia Pacific at Access360. "Through this seminar, we hope to highlight the challenges of access management in large enterprises. I believe the participants of this seminar now understand where we come from and how we can help deal with the complexities of access management."

ECS has embarked on its transformation to help companies become e-corporations. We would like to contribute to the partnership with our experience in computing application integration. A wide portfolio of leading-edge products and the technical ability to deploy them is the added-value proposition that ECS brings to the table. "With Access360's Resource Provisioning Management solutions, we can now offer even more comprehensive integration and end-to-end solutions for the extended enterprise," said Mr Foong Kam Tho, General Manager, ECS Computers (Asia) Pte Ltd.
