Due
to the tragic events that took place on September 11, 2001, Congress
made the decision to strengthen the protection of our national
computer networks. They took steps to provide effective
government-wide management and oversight of the nations information
security risks. On December 17, 2002, the Federal Information
Security Management Act (FISMA) became law requiring all federal
agencies, including the DoD (Department of Defense), to become
compliant. The Defense-wide Information Assurance Program (DIAP) was
formed to develop a program and document that would be the guideline
for the Directive called DoD Directive 8570.1M. The document was
released in 2006.
How does The Security Certified
Program fit in?
Our SCNP (Security Certified Network
Professional) qualifies for the Tech 2 Position. Our SCNA (Security
Certified Network Architect) qualified for the Tech 3 Position.
Why
SCP certifications?
Network Security is essential to every business and organization.
Data theft, loss of productivity and decreased profits are
unfortunately commonplace due to security breaches. IT Security Pros
must be specifically trained to think proactively. The Security
Certified Program's SCNS, SCNP and SCNA certifications
provide a solid knowledge of both defense network
security systems and the newer trusted needs of security.
Over the years, certification has become the foundation
method for verification of an employees skill. The demand for IT
professionals with skills in the fast changing world of network
security have been hard to find. When those people are found, there
has been no solid method of verification of those skills. The
Security Certified Program has changed that. Today's complex
electronic world requires IT pros with security skills above the
standard. The Security Certified Program ensures that employers know
that those candidates holding SCP certifications have undergone
extensive training, and have passed the difficult and detailed
examinations.
The
IT industry has changed. The skills required of
Security Professionals have changed. Networks are moving away from
purely perimeter-based defensive protection and towards complex,
interconnected trusted communication systems. As
this change progresses, it requires those IT pros trusted to
maintain the communication paths have only the best in education and
that their skills can be verified.
Earning
your SCNS, SCNP and SCNA certifications verifies your commitment to
excellence in security skill acquisition and dedication to staying
on the leading edge of IT security.
