Network Administration for the Solaris 10 OS

The Sun Certified Network Administrator (SCNA) certification is for system administrators tasked with performing essential system administration procedures on the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) and technical application support staff responsible for administering a networked server running on the Solaris OS.

This course is for experienced Sun Solaris System Administrator with 3 or more years of experiences administering Sun systems in a networked environment/working in a network capacity. The course covered 25% on general concept of computer networking and TCP/IP protocol. However, this course concentrated on configuration, administration, and manangement of Sun Solaris operating system networking and new features that are available on Solaris 10 OS.

Topics covered related to Solaris operating system includes Routing on Solaris System : statics and dynamic routing ; IPv6 on solaris systems ; interoperability with ipv4 ; IP network Multipathing : a features that provide redundancy and high availability to Solaris system ; DNS on solaris system ; DHCP ; NTP ; Solaris IP Filter firewall

To note all the topics described for SCNA are not covered in the CISCO Networking course (CCNA) where the latter course is focus on CISCO devices than Network Operating System. The Solaris Networking course therefore stands out by its own to cover a lot of network stuff relating to Solaris OS that is not covered by CCNA.
