Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 10 OS, Part I (CX-310-200) / SCSA Part 1

Product Description

The Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 10 OS Part I exam is for candidates with a minimum of six to twelve months experience as a system administrator. This exam presumes the test candidate has an in-depth knowledge of basic UNIX and Solaris OS commands, such as those commands covered in the SA-200-S10 and SA-201-S10 courseware and that the test candidate has system administration expertise for SPARC, x64, and x86 based systems. The examination includes multiple-choice, scenario-based questions and drag-and-drop questions and requires extensive knowledge on Solaris OS administration topics, including how to manage file systems, install software, perform system boot and shutdown procedures, perform user and security administration, manage network printers and system processes, and perform system backups and restores. The examination is a prerequisite to the Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris10 OS, Part II exam. Test candidates must pass this exam before proceeding to the Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 10 OS Part II exam.

Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 10 OS, Part II (CX-310-202) / SCSA Part 2

Product Description

The Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 10 Operating System, Part II exam is for candidates with one or more years of experience working as a system administrator. This certification exam tests that the candidate has an in-depth knowledge of advanced Solaris OS system administration skills, such as those covered in the SA-202-S10 and SA-203-S10 courseware and that the test candidate has system administration expertise for SPARC, x64, and x86 based systems. The examination includes multiple-choice, scenario-based questions, drag- and-drop questions, and requires extensive knowledge of advanced Solaris OS administration topics including how to perform network basics, manage virtual file systems and core dumps, manage storage volumes, control access and configure system messaging, set up naming services, and perform advanced installation procedures. The Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 10 OS Exam, Part I (310-200) is a prerequisite to this examination.

Solaris Certification candidates must pass both part I and part II exams in order to obtain Solaris 10 certification.

Sun Certified System Administrator Upgrade Certification for Solaris 10 OS (CX-310-203)

 This product package [Make the Transition to Solaris 10 (PK-SA-210-S10)] is comprised of a three-day instructor-led class and a 4 hour self-paced web course, WSB-210-S10. This course provides the essential differences between Solaris 8, Solaris 9 and Solaris 10. The course covers skills and tasks that are new in Solaris 10, and changed in Solaris 10. The course also covers tasks in Solaris 10 that replace previous Solaris tasks. This course is intended to provide experienced Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 systems administrators with practical experience administering Solaris 10 through hands-on practice and focuses on many of the objectives necessary to prepare them to take the Sun Certified System Administrator for the Solaris 10 Operating System Upgrade Exam (CX-310-203).

Sun Certified Network Administrator for Solaris 10 OS (CX-310-302) / SCNA

Product Description

The Sun Certified Network Administrator for the Solaris 10 Operating System exam is for candidates with three or more years of experience administering Sun systems in a networked environment/working in a network capacity. A test candidate must already be a Sun Certified System Administrator to qualify to take this examination. This certification exam tests the candidate has an in-depth knowledge of network administration skills, such as those covered in the SA-300-S10 courseware. The examination includes multiple-choice, scenario-based questions, drag-and-drop questions, and requires extensive knowledge on Solaris network administration topics including how to configure and manage the Network interface layer, the network (Internet and Transport layers), network applications, and the Solaris IP Filter.

Sun Certified Security Administrator for Solaris 10 OS (CX-310-303) / SCSECA

Product Description

The Sun Certified Security Administrator for the Solaris 10 Operating System exam is for test candidates with extensive job-role experience administering security in a Solaris Operating System (Solaris 10 or OpenSolaris) environment. Sun Certification recommends that candidates attend the course: SC-301-S10: Personalizing Security on the Solaris 10 Operating System, and previous Solaris OS system and network administration certification is strongly recommended. This exam presumes the test candidate has an in-depth knowledge of UNIX and Solaris OS features. The exam includes multiple-choice, scenario-based questions and drag-and-drop questions and requires extensive knowledge of Solaris OS security administration topics including: general security principles and features, hardening and minimization, principles of least privilege, cryptographic features, Kerberos, user account and password security, network security, auditing and zone security.
